Thalia Farm opened September 1st, 2011 with a small five stall barn, fifteen acres with limited amenities, and a big dream to provide superior care and a relaxed environment for our horses and their owners. "Thalia" is a Greek word; meaning "to flourish" or "to blossom". In the first year of operation, our small venture proved our namesake correct, and the demand for excellent care steadily outpaced our initial facility.
On December 1st, 2013, we moved to a new location with expanded facilities! Our location is convenient to the South Charlotte, Ballantyne, Weddington, and Marvin areas. We pride ourselves on a high standard of attentive care, as well as our outstanding group of boarders. We aim to maintain a “private barn” feeling, and a supportive and positive environment with our small group of close-knit boarders that makes up the Thalia Farm family.
Our facility is located on 26 acres of excellent quality grazing, enclosed with horse-safe polyrope electric fencing. The converted dairy barn is built with an open, airy feel for maximum ventilation. The property features four separate wash racks for grooming and tacking, and a large tack room with built-in cubbies for each boarder.
A lighted turf ring is available for nighttime riding; and a separate turf ring features a full stadium jumping course. A wide lane for hacking and conditioning work borders the property, and the perimeter of the property contains various cross country fences for schooling.
At Thalia Farm, we have always held fast to a high standard of care. We pride ourselves on maintaining a limited number of horses under our care, so that attentive supervision can be given to each one.
